Books of A. W. Spalding
It is believed that Ellen White commissioned Spalding to especially devote himself to ministry for children, towards the end of her life, according to his children. Whether this happened or not, and it probably did happen, he wrote more than thirty books, many of them with children in mind, and numerous articles on children and raising them. You will find them in Christian Education periodical (published as Home and School initially) and These Times (published as The Watchman). He was also the director of family ministry at the General Conference for many years, and while there produced numerous resources, one of which was the five series Christian Home Series, on raising children. A few of these are available as pdfs.
